Fisheye.
Some fisheye lenses have such a wide angle that they produce a circular image. It depends on the manufacurer, the angle, and what camera the lens is put on. Some might argue that all fisheye lenses make circular images, and if they don't then they are just super-wide-angle lenses.
That being said, some people might edit a circle for effect. But I will say it is the lens.
As for the picture. Cool colours. Nice flashwork.
Wow, sweet photo. I believe it is real, because I have not reason to believe otherwise. Crazy gap. The flashwork really makes the rider "pop" and illuminates the gap and landing nicely. Without the flash it might all be lost in the shadows. Great rider. He even matches his bike! White rims photograph really well. Great photographer. Well done! About Us
